Interested in learning more about Restorative Justice?
Please join us for a mutual exploration and discussion of Howard Zehr’s seminal book, Changing Lenses: Restorative Justice for Our Times 25th anniversary edition!
This book has served as a guide for restorative justice practitioners and community members working to create a paradigm shift in society, from a culture that uses inefficient methods of shame and punishment to address wrongdoing, to a culture of mutual accountability and healing justice. If we want to see reforms in the way we engage with conflict and wrongdoing, it is vital that we be open to shifting our view and explore possibilities for change. In this book, Howard Zehr challenges us to see our criminal justice system through a different lens and shows us the real possibility of creating a more just and sane system.
“Our understanding of what is possible and impossible are based on our constructions of reality. These constructs can and do change. Changing these constructs requires fearlessly replacing entrenched views that no longer serve us with new ones that do.” (Howard Zehr). We hope you will join us for some rich, provocative and respectful discussions.
